He doesn't come across as anything. That's the problem.Bingo. That's exactly it. He is utterly painful to listen to because he says absolutely nothing substantial. He giggles and rambles and basically sounds like a damn 3 year old who can't string two sentences together. He is socially inept. I hate his singing too, but his personality - or lack thereof - really, really grates.

I was watching "The Dark Knight" and it kept bothering me when the Joker kept licking his lips and I couldn't figure out why. It wasn't
until after the movie I realized that he was subconsciously remind me of Archie! Argh!

While we try to figure out if Archie is weird or just incredibly immature, one of his negative accomplishments has gone ignored. The rating of singing
performances is very subjective, but by my count, he is the only one of the show's 28 contestants who made it to the top 4 who managed to go all the way
from top 12 week THROUGH top 4 week without giving a single good performance in that stretch (I do think he had a couple in the semis and then finished strong
the last two weeks after his dad was thrown off the show). But of his 11 songs during this time period, I would rank one as a trainwreck (We Can Work It Out,
top 12 night), one as bad (America, top 5 night) and all the other 9 as mediocre/forgettable. In fact, they are probably the largest and most consistent group
of mediocre performances ever seen on the show. And most of them generated virtually no Sucks comments beyond the noting of their existence. Can anybody
besides fanatical Archie fans even remember what he sang on Andrew Lloyd Webber night? Dolly Parton night? Mariah Carey night? Neither can I.

Neither can I.Nor can I, because he made every single song sound exactly the same. He simply shoved unnecessary runs into every song and just called it a day. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Other than Imagine -- which apparently was Eva Cassidy's version, yet the judges decided to tongue-bathe him for originality while simultaneously making sure Cook never forgot that his Billie Jean was in fact Chris Cornell's version and don't you dare forget it -- and his fucked up, embarassing version of "With You", nothing else stood out. |

All I can say is I know for certain that he sang a fucking ballad pretty much every single fucking week... and he was flat quite often and never got called out on it... don't even get me going on the stupid assed controversy on covers - all I can say to the ass wipe media that got their panties in a twist about Cook is, Have you ever watched American Idol? I have special insider information for you. Lean close, so that I can whisper it in your ear.... all of the idols sing covers of songs. shhhh, don't share that information with anyone. |

I remember his performance of "Your the Voice" because it was such a fucking bizarre choice of song and because Simon made the comment the he was
